A series of keyframes for an original side-scroller video game concept. The player assumes the role of a young girl in a post-apocalyptic world, ravaged by a war between spirits and humans. In this world, humans are cursed to return to the land as trees upon death, producing wood-like growths all over their body as they age. Legend has it, deep inside the cursed forest, there lies a tree that all spirits are birthed from. If a human's wooden heart is places in its soil, they'll be able to pass on to the afterlife.
Equipped with the heart of her late mother, a rifle, and her wooden legs, our protagonist ventures into this forest, facing spirit and landscapes both hostile and beautiful, in hopes of laying her loved one to rest.
